It gives me great pleasure to announce that Super Duper Big Heart won 1st place in the Purple Dragonfly Book Award. This award is a worldwide book competition to recognize the best in children’s books.
In 2009, the Purple Dragonfly book competition was established to acknowledge and honor reputable authors annually. There are 57 categories for authors to choose that would perfectly be suitable for their books. I chose “Family Matters” for Super Duper Big Heart because it was written for children and families whose lives were blessed by adoption.
Judges were selected carefully in their area of expertise over the categories that they oversee. In choosing the winners, stories with originality and creativity in content and designs are most desired by the judges. All of the judges use a point scale for each book; an extremely involved process. A minimum score of 55 of 80 is eligible to win an award. Although it is stated that not every book entered would win.
Super Duper Big Heart is my first children’s book that I wrote dedicated to my beautiful loving children. I am truly grateful for this honor. I am humbled and excited to be among such a talented group of authors. Looking forward to announcing my 2nd children’s book! Coming soon!
